Learning Collaboratives

A Learning Collaborative is a comprehensive training plan, supported by NCTSN, as a primary vehicle for achieving the mission of increasing the standard of care and improving access to services for traumatized children. The goal of this approach is to promote adoption and implementation of trauma informed practices across a broad range of content areas in diverse settings. The goal of a Collaborative is to achieve results by closing the gap between the best care and the usual practice in a specific area. Collaboratives operate on adult learning principles, require focused work by each team to adapt effective changes to their setting, use methods for accelarating improvement, and capitalize on shared learning and collaboration.
